Food and Health
General Information
Roby CISD participates in the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program. Breakfast and lunch are available for all students every school day. Our programs encourage students to make good food choices and adopt an active, healthy lifestyle.
Meals, foods, and beverages sold or served at our schools meet state and federal requirements based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to various affordable and appealing foods that meet their health and nutrition needs.
Determining Income Eligibility
The following income eligibility guidelines determine eligibility for free and reduced-price meals or free milk for the nutrition assistance programs administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).
Eligibility may be based on the total income and size (i.e., number of household members) of a participant’s household. Children from households whose incomes are at or below the levels shown in the appropriate table are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Suppose any member of the household receives Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) benefits. In that case, children are eligible for free meals.
